The dvd sets of Emperor of the Sea from Yes Asia are lavish productions and the subtitles are excellent. It has BEAUTIFUL cinematography! But to be honest, I'm starting to get a bit tired of the plight on plight on plight on Jang Bo Go plot so far.
Must say, actor Song Il-guk makes a perfect villain. YeomJang is a well rounded fullbodied character and Song Il Kuk is marvellous.
Though the face is not familiar but I recognised the blue robe that had been worn by Han Jae-suk before in the initial shoot of the drama.

Song Il-gook has shown good performance in recently concluded weekend drama 'Terms of Endearment. Thank you for starting a thread on this drama. no doubt about it, this man is cursed with such bad luck that you don't want to even see it unfold before your eyes. Lady Jami merchant and schemer extraordinaire: Chae Si Ra. Song Il-gook will play the role of Yeom-jang, who is a comrade of Jang Bo-go and competes to win love from the same woman against Jang. The whole cast is splendid and you will recognise many actors.

He looks more mature and not so skinny. Madam Jami is highest class Gingol novel. She has mild character but doesn’t avoid challenges in order to make her dream come true. I cannot recommend this series highly enough. Chae Si-ra will play as Madam Jami, who is a noble of Shilla and fights for the trade right in the South Sea against Jang Bo-go.

He looks so dashing and even when he is being the dastardly pirate. In the end, he betrays Jang Bo-go and kills him. but the grown-up version, one look and i would run screaming in the opposite direction! but seriously more needs to be done to lead up to that love blossoming and her decision to run away with him. But she tries to use Jeong-hwa to fulfill her ambition.
I really liked the actor who was the friend of Bo Go from the start. When young, he was raised by pirates. Visitors' house, market place, the Shilla office in Dang, ports were built as sets, not to mention Cheong-Hae-Jin in Wando, Jeonnam, home to Jang Bo-go.
I have been wondering about who replaced Han Jae-suk after he went to serve the military.
He was the youngest son in 'More Beautiful than a flower" Sorry can't bring his name to mind at the moment.
Jang Bo-go lost both parents when he was young. which I admit get a bit draggy mainly because of Jang Bo Go and his trials in life. Madam Jami accepts Jang Bo-go as her private solder after Jang escaped his salve position after winning a fight at Bangmajang, but plans to put him at trouble when Jang gets help from Seol-pyeong (Park Yeong-gyu), who is a rival to her. Too bad that Han Jae-suk missed out a good chance to play the villain. It is well worth going through the first episodes. Exactly! if they have decided that Choi Sujong is to be the main lead, the least they should have done for him is to choose a shorter, older and uglier second male lead for him. .

Emperor of the Sea has 51 episodes in total. Each episode is action packed and the story batman begins blu ray line moves freely b/w Korea and China. She is longing for wealth and power.

I have discussed this drama on another website and there are many opinions about it and about the characters and their motivations. Actually find her quite elegant. not convincing at all! i could understand how the younger version of her could have fallen for the younger version of him. I would take him over Jang Bo Go every time. Feels more like watching a very well made HK or Chinese production. because this drama gets better as more facets of the story and the many characters evolve.

She is a daughter of six-grade novel. I know many of you will fall in love with the character of Yeom Moon b/c he is so devestatingly handsome, for all that he is a pirate, but for me there is only Jang Bogo, the boy who was born as a slave but grew to become the Emperor of the Sea.
